DDG Zhang: Cooperation in trade and investment needed to revitalize world economy

Speaking at the World Investment Forum of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development on 22 October, Deputy Director-General Xiangchen Zhang underlined the importance of international cooperation on trade and investment to enable economies, including developing and least-developed countries, to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. “Trade and investment serve as twin engines to power the world economic recovery from the pandemic,” he said. “Expanding trade and investment and strengthening economic resilience will require more trade and investment cooperation — at the multilateral, plurilateral and regional levels.” His full remarks are below.
