Agriculture Committee’s new working group on food security launches a needs questionnaire

The WTO’s newly established working group on food security met for the first time on 7 December 2022 to discuss the new work programme launched to address food security concerns of least-developed countries (LDCs) and net food-importing developing countries (NFIDCs), in line with a mandate given by the 12th Ministerial Conference (MC12). At the meeting, members finalized a questionnaire to assess food security needs and challenges of LDCs and NFIDCs and their use of flexibilities in WTO agreements and decisions. Members’ responses will guide the work of the group.
